The Coca-Cola dome transforms itself again and again

One of the keys to a successful venue is the ability to transform itself to suit any performance. At the Coca-Cola dome this sometimes happens literally within 24 hours! the Coca-Cola dome’ s professional team has 15 years of exceptional experience and is able to configure the venue to suit the artist’s requirements while providing the best experience for the audience……

In November the Coca-Cola dome will be hosting five concerts in five days. We kick off with John Legend supported by local urban soul singer Lulu Dikana. The 9-time Grammy Award winner will perform in an intimate seated environment. Although there are three performances by this R&B musician, we will be hosting both the celebrated jazz artist Kenny G and Thirty Seconds to Mars in between the first and final two nights of John Legend. These smooth sounds will be backed up by a truly smooth transition for each performer.

The technical crew and support staff are able to ensure the venue alters  seamlessly from one event setup to another, avoiding many operational expenses and minimising event turnaround times. Going from a fully seated venue for Kenny G the Coca-Cola dome adjusts to be standing only to allow for Thirty Seconds to Mars fans to rock and roll, and then back to a seating plan for John Legend within 48 hours! “Our full event calendar is testament to the venue being successful and having viable facilities to accommodate any eventing requirements. As a multipurpose venue, we are able to offer event organisers technical and operational support to stage just about any live performance,” says Warren Green, Commercial Manager of the Coca-Cola dome.

We’re excited to have been chosen as the only location in South Africa to host Kenny G who will be supported by the multi-talented award-winning African jazz artist and musician Selaelo Selota. This is a unique experience we are able to offer Gauteng. The Coca-Cola dome is also able to offer patrons VIP suites, which includes a private bar along with catering both pre and post event and preferential parking which ensures easy exit. This offering is designed to allow for patrons to enjoy their evening out for a little longer.

The Coca-Cola dome will host Thirty Seconds to Mars on Friday 21 November, the three-man band’s songs draw from a host of sources, including goth, emo, art-rock and synth-pop.  Well known for their energetic and entertaining live performances, they are sure to have fans dancing and singing along in no time. We are proud to present these global superstars to Jozi once again. They will be supported by local pop band, Beatenberg, their album released in August peaked at number two on the SA iTunes chart.

“The additional requirements that live music performances place on venues are becoming increasing more demanding and we’ve found that we are able to keep event organisers coming back again and again because of the excellent work our many years of experience reinforces,” said Green.

This year the Coca-Cola dome also hosted The Fray, Jaheim, Anthony Hamilton and local group Mafikizolo. We’ll also be welcoming the Grammy Awarding winning soul singer Jill Scott in December. Next year the excitement continues when we’ll be looking forward to Michael Bublé!
